My story begins at my birth on July 6, 1944 to Thelma
Wynona Jackson Morittz and Charles Nealy Morittz. I was born near Sallisaw
Oklahoma. The journey has been very eventful for me.
I met Ralph Owen Powless Sr. in Corning, CA. in the
summer of 1963. Ralph was a minister holding a revival and my mother invited him to dinner. We
were married on August 18, 1963.
A year later, Ralph Owen Powless, Jr. was born on August
17, 1964. He was followed by six more children-Robert DeWayne Powless on May 23, 1966, Basil
Curtis Powless on April 30, 1967, Michael Shawn Powless on April 23, 1968, Robin
Charlynn Powless on February 3, 1970, Vincent Earl Scott Powless on March 26, 1971, and
finally, Steven Edward Powless, Sr. on July 3, 1973. While in South Dakota on a mission trip in 1978, we
adopted twin girls, Gloria Grace BearRunner and Geraldine Edith BearRunner
born July 17, 1972. We now have numerous grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In 1996, after raising my family, I went back to school and earned a
Bachelors Degree in Sociology at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah Oklahoma. I am now single and live in a
small town in northeastern Oklahoma.
